A Great Passing

Latirinpoche01 The other death that I heard recently was of Kyabje Kensur Lati Rinpoche. I am not a direct student of this great master but he is amongst my lineage Lamas because he is one Rinpoche's great teachers.

I know very little of him except through the amazing stories I heard from Rinpoche's sharing and teachings. One thing I know is that all of Rinpoche students here in Malaysia owe him a great deal because he was the main cause for Rinpoche to come to Malaysia and teach.

Also, I remember on one of the earlier trips I made to Gaden with a group of pilgirms, he told us in an audience, "Listen to Tsem Rinpoche and do as he says…."

Then he adds, "….because he is not an ordinary person. He is a Bodhisattva and has your well-being as his primary concern."

I shall never forget his words.

I heard that he is currently in clear light right now. That means he is in his last stages of death meditation and has not left his body yet although he has physically passed away. In other words, he is an attained being because only great masters who enters clear light upon death have full control of their death and rebirth. When he was alive, his main Yidam was Heruka Chakrasamvara and he had obviously became one with Heruka.

It is so sad to loose such a great master and yet his death is such an amazing testament to the power of Tantra. May he take rebirth quickly and benefit many more beings!

Rinpoche's account of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche is on his blog -> http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/2010/04/his-eminence-kyabje-lati-rinpoche-enters-clear-light.html
