The Face of An Insecure Author

2 Apr

Photo 11On the eve of KMP's Bookclub reading (There's No Way But Up), I am having an insecurity fit! You see, I was pretty affected by some comments made by my kind fellow colleagues a couple of days ago regarding a previous book reading and I just couldn't get it out of my mind. So during the briefing (in preparation of the bookclub reading),

I found myself telling them as nicely as my sore ego would allow, "I hear you! But could you please not repeat it so many times? Thank you!"

Ok, I know! I have such a huge fat ego because it wasn't bad criticism but my ego just exaggerated it. I felt ashamed, sorry for myself and strangely relieved. I am ashamed because it is the same old insecurity issues again, I am also sorry because I probably sounded like a deranged mental patient and strangely relieved because my ego just had its fill venting out frustration.

All this happened with gentle Manjushri staring down upon me (The briefing was held next to the altar of Manjushri). Poor Manjushri! He must be rolling his divine eyes at me again.

P/S: Manjushri is the Buddha of Wisdom. This is how he looks like…

Champion of your ego … You made it and all those years of doubt flushed down the drain. You show many that trusting in you Guru is the key to success for He knows best …
    You’re an inspiration 🙂
Very Proud and Happy for you!!!
